Can I send you an email to see if you want the gig before I sign up?
Of course... or send me a message here! I like to pre-vet gigs, but a lot of this is going to be doing work that is outside my comfort zone, so I am expecting to take gigs that don’t perfectly work for me.
Who owns the IP?
If I work on the gig, it is work for hire, and you get the IP from the work.
What type of problem can you solve?
I know I can’t solve a new catalyst for energy-efficient hydrogen production or how to find the perfect partner, but I can build business cases, give my opinion on how to structure a deal, price a product, find a market, and build a simple financial model.
What happens if we want to follow up after a gig is completed?
Buy a second gig. I expect that most of my customers will be repeat customers. You can even buy an hour at a time if you need to ask follow-up questions.
Whose time am I buying?
Benjamin’s time. I will use some editing and research help from my team, but I am doing this work solo; I am not delegating it to a junior consultant... you're paying for my time you get MY time.
I need a custom contract... can you do that?
Sure. First, check with your legal team. If it is a slight modification to my contract (which you can review here...), I am okay with reviewing that. If it is a whole new agreement with a new NDA, please add $3k to cover legal fees for contract review.
How do I know if you do good work?
Buy a week’s gig. if you like the solution, buy another one. It is not a considerable risk. Frankly, I get more done weekly than most people do monthly.
How many hours are you billing for?
I don’t bill hours; I bill time at task. If I am focused on your project, I will focus on it. Traditional consultants deal in time... I deal in solutions.
I can’t pay with a credit card... is that a problem?
No worries, I can send you wire instructions.
What if I want to pay in 90 days?
I can do the work in 110 days :-). The whole point is to keep it simple so neither needs to mess with AR staff to manage billing.
